A Bolton man has been sentenced to a community order for exposing himself to two women in Rivington, following a distressing incident last November.
In a recent court hearing at Bolton Crown Court, it was revealed that Steven Rushworth, 48, approached two women while they were inside their vehicle in Rivington. After inquiring about their well-being, he moved away before engaging in a sexual act in front of them.
The incident, which lasted approximately two minutes, prompted the women to seek assistance from a police officer they had encountered earlier. Rushworth was subsequently detained shortly after they reported the incident.
During the hearing, victim impact statements were read, highlighting the emotional distress caused by Rushworth's actions. One woman expressed that the experience was terrifying and has led her to avoid the area in the future, while the other reflected on past trauma related to similar incidents.
In court, Rushworth admitted to the charge of exposure. His defense attorney noted that he requires support from the probation service. Judge Martin Walsh sentenced him to a two-year community order, requiring him to complete 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days and register as a sex offender for five years.
