The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is currently probing what seems to be an assassination attempt on Trump, which occurred at his West Palm Beach golf course. The Secret Service intervened when an agent spotted a suspect armed with a firearm, prompting the agent to fire in self-defense. The suspect, later identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was reportedly filming himself near the resort.

Law enforcement officials reported that Routh was located shortly after fleeing the scene in a black vehicle. A backpack containing a GoPro camera, firearm scope, and an AK-47-style rifle was recovered nearby. Sheriff Ric Bradshaw commented on the incident, praising the Secret Service for their prompt response, while suggesting that future protective measures for Trump may be heightened.

In the wake of the incident, President Biden and Vice President Harris were briefed and expressed relief over Trump’s safety. Public figures, including Trump's running mate JD Vance and Fox News presenter Sean Hannity, also voiced their gratitude, emphasizing the importance of Trump's safety amidst the ongoing tensions surrounding the presidential campaign.

This incident follows a previous assassination attempt in July, which resulted in a bullet grazing Trump’s ear.
